Please send your abstract using dedicated template (see guidelines below) to balkanbio@uni-plovdiv.bg. When registering, you can apply for an oral or poster presentation. A selection process will take place with the results announced 2-3 weeks after the abstract submission deadline. Participants will be notified of the selected presentation type (poster or oral). Only participants registering to attend the on-site event are eligible to submit an abstract.
Abstract Guidelines:
Please download the abstract template and send it to our email as a docx file.
Important: The abstract should be on one page size A4 with the font size 12 pt. (Times New Roman), alignment left and right, all margins equal to 2.5 cm. The text must be submitted in electronic form in docx file in a final ready version. Header and footer of the text must be empty. The format of the abstract is described below:
- first line: start with the title of the contribution in bold letters and with the size of lettering 14 pt. high,
- skip one line,
- first name and surname of the author (in the case of co-authors, put a comma between the names), underline the presenting author
- skip one line,
- affiliation with full address including postcode
- skip one line,
- e-mail address of corresponding author,
- skip two lines,
- key words,
- text of the abstract with justified alignment (have to fit within the single page).
The author is responsible for the content and quality of contributions. Editorial amendments will not be done. The texts (as is) will be converted into the final version. Header and footer of the text must be empty without numbering.
Poster Guidelines:
Poster size should be printed in size A1 (594 x 841 mm)
Poster orientation should be portrait (vertical).
You can setup your poster during the registration time on 30 and 31 October. Please check the program for information regarding your poster number!
To aggregate and make all the outputs of the balkan.bio 2025 conference accessible, we have created a Zenodo community into which you can deposit your materials. All uploads to Zenodo are assigned a Digital Object Identifier (DOI), which makes them citable and trackable also be easily findable. We encourage you to upload your full posters online in our dedicated Zenodo Conference channel. All posters submitted to Zenodo will receive DOI numbers for citing and better dissemination. Please select poster or presentation for Resource type when uploading.
Full Text manuscripts:
Selected number of full text papers will be invited to submit manuscripts in Archives of Biological Sciences (Scopus, Q3), BioTechnologia (Scopus, Q3), Ecologica Balcanica (Scopus, Q4), Zoonotes (Scopus), and Journal of BioScience and Biotechnology, a peer-reviewed scientific journals. The manuscripts that fulfill the standards of the journals will be published after strict peer-reviewed process.
The full text manuscripts should be send via email (balkanbio@uni-plovdiv.bg) till 31 October 2025. Scientific committee will select papers that fulfill the standards of the journals. Authors will be notified and invited to submit the manuscripts for peer-review in the selected journal. The title and abstract of the full-text manuscript should not be identical as the poster/oral presentation due to a copyright requirements in the journals!
Book of Abstracts:
The abstract book will be publish electronically by University of Plovdiv Press, and will be distributed before the beginning of the conference.
